Bridges

Long Lasting Results

A fixed bridge is used to bridge the space where one or more teeth are missing.   It can also help to maintain your facial shape, restore your chewing and speaking ability and perfect your smile.

All of your teeth play an important role in speaking, chewing and in maintaining proper alignment of other teeth.  The space left from missing teeth may cause one of several problems.  Teeth may drift into the space changing your bite; this changed bite may result in sore jaws, gum disease, or decay (due to more difficult hygiene.)

The teeth on either end of the span are crowned, and are referred to as abutments.  The false teeth in a bridge that join the abutments are referred to as pontics.
