CANDIDA

Did you know that chronic fatigue, illness or stress can cause Candida or yeast?

How about antibiotic use, birth control pills or thyroid medicine?

Or even diets high in sugar and carbohydrates or alcohol?

Candida – What is it?

Candida Albicans is a yeast organism normally found on the skin, in the mouth, gut and other mucus membrane. In healthy individuals this yeast is helpful in digestion and vitamin production.  When our natural resistance to its overgrowth is reduced it causes an imbalance.  It is harmless until the balance of the yeast is altered or your immune system becomes altered.

It is estimated that 70% of people have Candida overgrowth in their intestines, mouths (white coating on tongue) or on their skin.

What causes the imbalance?

When the body’s ability to contain it proves ineffective and consequently allows the yeast to spread, the candida overgrowth can become capable of causing illness.  Candida imbalances can put a big load on your immune system. By getting this imbalance under control can make a huge difference in getting back to optimal health.

Basic symptoms of yeast over growth:

•    Bloating
•    Upper or lower GI gas
